Rosanne's Obituary

Rosanne Marie Hancock passed away in Colorado Springs, CO, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from complications from kidney failure.

She was born on January 27, 1951, to Bernard Donald and Evelyn Theresa (née Nowak) Rybicki in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the first of nine children.

She graduated from Wayland Union High School in 1969.

After high school she moved to Battle Creek, MI, to attend Kellogg Community College where she met her first husband and father of her children, Barton King. They were married on March 9th 1974. They were a military family and moved several times until they settled in Colorado Springs. She and Bart divorced and Rosanne later married the love of her life, Ralph Wayne Hancock on November 7, 1988. Rosanne was a loving mother and a caring grandmother.

She is survived by her two daughters: Jennifer (Jamie) Blakely of Paris TX, and Apryll(aka Shilah) Herod-Marette (Corey Marette) of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren: Katie, Sean, Mychaela, Eryn, Alanna, and Josh Blakely, all of Texas,  Neve Herod-Burton and Lucas Herod, of Colorado Springs, CO; two great-granddaughters, Rosaleigh Herod and Neyteri Burton-Herod; and dear friend Mark Spilman (aka Rusty Lane).  She is also survived by her eight brothers and sisters: Jim (Joy) Rybicki of Wayland, MI, Larry (Linda) Rybicki of Mendon, MI, Barb (Rick) Borucki of Winston-Salem, NC, Phil Rybicki (fiancée Connie Burton) of Sparta, MI, Ralph (Patti) Rybicki of Delton, MI, Matthew Rybicki of Grand Rapids, MI, Andrew (Kim) Rybicki of Plainwell, MI, and Kathleen Alonso of Kentwood, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph Wayne, brother-in-law Billy Alonso, sister-in-law Shawn Rybicki. And two step sons Ronald and Roy Hancock. 

May you fly with the angels, Rosanne. You are loved and will be dearly missed by all. Rest in peace.
